Elrha and the UK Humanitarian Innovation Hub (UKHIH) are seeking proposals from qualified service providers or consortia to undertake the Exploring the HRI Digital Landscape initiative. This strategic initiative will explore the challenges and opportunities in developing digital platforms to support humanitarian research and innovation (HRI).
This work aims to consolidate internal knowledge, map the existing digital ecosystem, and develop principles and guidelines for designing ethical, inclusive, and adaptable digital platforms. The initiative will build on prior experiences and lessons from UKHIH and Elrha.
The initiative comprises four work packages:
- Consolidating institutional learning to capture internal insights and lessons.
- Mapping the HRI digital ecosystem to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Generating actionable insights and principles to guide digital platform development.
- Designing specifications or mock-ups for a potential digital innovation catalogue.
The project will engage diverse stakeholders, including humanitarian organisations and technology developers, ensuring the outputs are practical, sustainable, and aligned with sector needs.
Selection Process
Proposals will be evaluated against criteria outlined in the UKHIH Call for Proposals document. Shortlisted candidates maybe be invited to interviews to present their approach and demonstrate their technical expertise and project management capacity.
Key evaluation considerations include:
- Expertise in humanitarian research and innovation.
- Knowledge of digital platforms to drive change and provide support.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and consultation.
- Ability to deliver within tight timeframes.
